Rachel was born in our beautiful Manning Valley and grew up in Killabakh, where her love of animals flourished. After completing her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2017, Rachel joined the practice in 2018 and once she arrived, we wondered how we had ever coped without her.
Since joining the Wingham & Valley Vets team, Rachel has impressed us with her great attitude, her dedication to her patients and her hardworking nature. Beloved by staff and clients alike, Rachel has a bright, bubbly personality and has been a tremendous addition to our nursing team. It didn’t take Rachel long to become an integral part of our Hospital and we value her contribution immensely.
Rachel fulfils a number of roles in the Practice and she is equally efficient and dedicated as both a Receptionist and a Surgical Nurse. She is committed to continuing education and pursuing standards of excellence, attending two recent Veterinary Nurses Council of Australia Conferences and assisting the Directors with implementing ideas and policies that help to maximise patient care. Rachel recently completed the Australia New Zealand College of Veterinarians Anaesthesia Monitoring Course in 2023.
Rachel regularly comes in afterhours, at all hours of the day and night to assist our Veterinarians with Emergency cases and surgeries, for which we and our clients are immensely grateful. The Practice is very fortunate to have dedicated Nurses like Rachel, who will sacrifice their sleep and personal time to assist our patients when they most need it.
Rachel loves all animals and they love her. She and her lovely husband Jake have a rescue dog Sammy and a Border Collie Asha who have both landed on the best of wickets.
Rachel’s favourite thing about her job is “When a critical patient that I’ve worked with recovers and is able to go home to their family.”
