Dr. Maddie O'Meara

Maddie graduated from Charles Sturt University with a Bachelor in Veterinary Biology/Bachelor in Veterinary Science and joined Wingham & Valley Vets in 2024, hoping to find a Veterinary Practice where her love of Mixed Practice can flourish.

Maddie’s warmth, compassion and outstanding knowledge mean she is a real asset to our team and clients always feel listened to and well cared for when Maddie is helping their beloved pets.

Maddie loves all aspects of Mixed Practice, but especially horse work, having grown up with horses and competed for many years in eventing, showjumping, campdrafting and dressage. Maddie has a particular interest in Equine Medicine, Lameness and Reproduction. Maddie is an extremely proficient Equine Vet, equipped with the gentle and confident horse handling skills which are so important in an Equine Veterinarian.

We are fortunate to attract wonderful Vets like Maddie to our team and her varied skillset and great communication skills are wonderful assets to the Practice.

Outside of work Maddie’s interests include competitive horse riding (eventing, showjumping, dressage, campdrafting and ASH showing), horseback mustering of cattle, snow skiing, painting, drawing, netball and waterpolo.
