Claire is one of our Senior Veterinarians and together with her husband Zac, became a partner in the practice in 2021. Claire brings a wealth of knowledge to the practice and her calm, caring demeanor is appreciated by clients and pets alike.
Claire graduated from the University of Adelaide in 2017 with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Originally from the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia, Claire grew up on a small hobby farm and has always loved animals and the country lifestyle. After completing her degree and meeting Zac, Claire worked in a Mixed Practice in the Hunter Valley before travelling to the UK to locum. After thoroughly enjoying a month of locum work with us at Wingham and Valley Vets in January 2020, receiving wonderful compliments from clients and staff alike, we were thrilled when Claire accepted a permanent position on the team in June 2020.
Claire enjoys the variety of Mixed Practice and enjoys all aspects, with a particular interest in Small Animal Surgery & Pathology, Equine Dentistry and Equine Reproduction. Claire has recently undertaken further training in Equine Dentistry, attending the acclaimed EVDS Dental Course and she enjoys providing quality dental care to horses throughout the Manning Valley. Claire is interested in Small Animal Soft Tissue Surgery and enjoys assisting more junior Veterinarians in developing their surgical skills.
In her free time Claire enjoys spending time outdoors with her Border Collie Jasper, her Scottish Deerhound Gillie, surfing and playing touch football and tennis. Claire’s wisdom, gentleness and outstanding theoretical knowledge are critical to operations at Wingham & Valley Vets, and it is the mentorship of Vets like Claire that help to make our team great.
