It's not just what we know... it's how much we care!
Our Hospital
STATE-OF-THE-ART SMALL ANIMAL HOSPITAL AND LARGE ANIMAL STABLE COMPLEX
Our heritage-style Small Animal Hospital Building
We are operating out of an A-class purpose-built Veterinary Hospital in the township of Wingham, located at 33 Isabella Street. The new hospital opened in October 2023 and we are incredibly excited about what this means for the future of the practice and how much it will benefit our patients, clients and staff.
We specifically asked the architect to take inspiration from the beautiful heritage buildings in Wingham to ensure the new design is in keeping with the heritage appearance of the town’s main streets.
Features of our new hospital:
- welcoming and spacious waiting room, with a separate waiting area for cats to ensure they are calm and comfortable
- six consultation rooms – including two dedicated cat consulting rooms – we are a Gold-Accredited cat friendly hospital! Clients are shown directly into a consultation room rather than waiting in a busy waiting room which can be stressful for pets
- two state-of-the-art small animal surgical suites built to Practice of Excellence standards
One of our state of the art surgical theaters
- a large, modern treatment space with piped oxygen to every treatment table, two CTTV monitored ICU runs and multiple resuscitation and treatment tables.
- separate dog and cat hospital areas to achieve fear-free and cat-friendly accreditation
- dedicated canine reproduction room for semen collections, assessment and freezing and transcervical insemination
- dedicated digital radiology room with a state of the art digital xray unit
- equine stable complex with 2 spacious stables with an outdoor exercise yard and a foal box, to house critically unwell horses, horses requiring daily wound management or mares for breeding

Our lovely new Large Animal Hospital Complex
Fear-Free & GOLD Cat-Friendly Hospital
As a vet practice with a strong emphasis on animal behaviour and animal welfare, we are thrilled that our Hospital is Gold-Accredited as Cat-Friendly. Fear-Free and Cat-Friendly Accreditation gives an assurance to pet owners that the hospital is designed in such a way that fear, stress and anxiety are minimised for canine and feline patients.
Cat-friendly hospital design follows similar principles to Fear-Free, recognising that our much loved feline patients have special needs when it comes to minimising their anxiety in a Veterinary setting.
Our warm and inviting Reception Area
Important elements of hospital design that are necessary for fear-free and/or cat-friendly accreditation are:
- separate dog and cat waiting areas, treatment and hospitalisation areas
- elevated cat carrier shelves so cats in carriers are never placed on the floor
- dedicated cat only consultation rooms so cats are not fearful due to smelling dog smells or pheromones
- sound proofing of all dog hospitalisation areas so hospitalised animals are less likely to hear eachother, creating a quiet and relaxed hospital ward
- surplus of consulting rooms, allowing patients to be put in a consult room with their owners as quickly as possible after entering the building, so they are not in the waiting room with other pets
